The 2016 Amici Cellars Oakville Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon is a decadent, delicious wine grown in one of the highest-altitude vineyards in Oakville. The organically farmed Oakville Ranch is tended by legendary organic grapegrower Phil Coturri, and the site’s elevation, along with its signature red soils, leads to a rich and powerful wine.

Winemaking Notes

Rich and velvety from first glance to lingering finish, the 2016 Oakville Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon begins with fresh aromas of mountain blueberries and black cherry juice. Light cocoa and coffee notes appear as well, carrying through the palate redolent with dark fruit, redcurrant, cranberry and vanilla. Dense texture and layers of dark chocolate, soy, saddle leather and well-integrated tannins carry through the palate into the wine’s long finish.

“Composed of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 22 months in 100% new French oak, the very deep purple-black colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch Vineyard comes charging from the glass with vibrant chocolate-covered cherries, crushed blackcurrants, blackberry pie and Chinese five spice with hints of wild sage, garrigue and unsmoked cigars. The palate is big, rich and full with a firm, grainy frame and oodles of freshness, finishing long on a provocative mineral/iron ore note.”
