A barrel sample blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc expected to age 22 months in 100% new French oak, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve is very deep garnet-purple in color and reveals a nose of crushed black cherries, blackberries and cassis with hints of violets, redcurrants, garrigue, wild sage and beef drippings. The palate is medium to full-bodied and intensely fruited with a lovely savory core of fruit and plenty of red fruit sparks, finishing long and structured. 1,300 cases are expected to be made.
