Made of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 22 months in 100% new French oak—Taransaud, Sylvain and Darnajou barrels—the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard is very deep garnet-purple colored and offers up expressive red and black currants notes with hints of fresh plums, dried Provence herbs, cedar chest and pencil lead with a waft of forest floor. Full-bodied, the palate has a lot more generosity than many 2017s, with a solid backbone of grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and savory.
