2013 Amici Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley

About the Wine
:  This 2013 Amici Cellars Sauvignon Blanc is a blend of 50% Sauvignon Musque and 50% Sauvignon Blanc from vineyards in St. Helena and Rutherford in Napa Valley.  The wine exhibits distinct aromas of citrus, fragrant honeysuckle, and notes of pineapple and guava. On the palate, round flavors of tropical fruit and lemon custard are balanced by a clean, wet stone minerality and a hint of lemon zest.  It is a complex and elegant wine that pairs exceptionally well with food.

2013 Vintage: 2013 is widely regarded as one of the best vintages on record for Napa Valley winemaking. The ideal year began with a mild spring and no frosts, and continued with a summer and fall that brought warm, even temperatures and no heat waves. Throughout the growing season the vines enjoyed warm days and cool nights, allowing a long, slow ripening that resulted in beautifully balanced wines with fully developed flavors and fresh acidity.

"Smooth and supple, offering an elegant mix of lemongrass, verbena, pear and white flowers. Very stylish."

4 Stars (Excellent).
"A supple, distinct Sauvignon with some complexity. It is long on the palate, with lemon peel, lime, lemon grass, guava, and grapefruit aromas/flavors. Excellent."

— Restaurant Wine, April 2015

"Floral and fruity aromas of orange blossoms, honeysuckle, grapefruit, pineapple, and tropical touches, with a limestone minerality. Ripe apple, stone fruit, and tropical notes on the palate, over a creamy lemon base. Good acidty on the citrus finish. Nicely done."
— Santé Magazine, October 2014

"Pale gold; quite fresh and clean; lemon and tangerine, hint of mango and lemongrass; hint of honeysuckle; moderately lush but crisply balanced; river-rock minerality; lime peel and flint finish. Quite attractive. Very Good+."
— Bigger Than Your Head wine blog, November 2, 2014

"Grassy and tropical in papaya and melon, this SB has a creaminess that gives it substance, surrounded by fig and apricot flavors that finish crisply in lemon zest. 88 Points."
