2010 Olema Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County

About the Wine:  The 2010 Olema Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Merlot sourced from vineyards in Dry Creek Valley and Alexander Valley in Sonoma County.  The wine is complex and structured with layers of dark fruit flavors, and a touch of Merlot in the blend adds a velvety mouthfeel to this smooth and full-bodied Cabernet.

2010 Vintage:  The 2010 growing season was cool and temperate, without sustained heat spikes during the summer growing season. These mild temperatures resulted in elegant wines with structure and moderate alcohol levels. Fruit flavors are generally well-developed and balanced in this vintage, without extending into “jammy” notes.

Winemaker Notes:  This polished Cabernet Sauvignon displays complex aromas of black cherry, cedar and espresso followed by dark berry fruit, spice and mocha flavors.  It is full-bodied with smooth tannins and a wonderful, lingering finish.

Reviews:
"Excellent: supple in texture, full-bodied, and long on the palate; a Cabernet with moderate richness, good balance, and a smooth finish, tasting of blackberry, toast, pepper, cherry and sage. (4 stars)"
